Today we have our last post from our guest writer Alex de Leeuw as he tells us about his time in Amsterdam. Here are his first and second posts.

Vandaag was het zonnig weer dus Stuart laat mij Amsterdam zien.
Today it was sunny weather so Stuart shows me Amsterdam.
Dit is de Dam. Maar waar is het Paleis?
This is Dam Square but where is the palace?
Wij kijken op de plattegrond om het paleis te vinden.
We looked at the map to find the palace.
…maar dit is niet het paleis.
…but this is not the palace.
… dit ook niet!
… neither is this.
Wij kijken overal of wij het Paleis kunnen vinden.
We look everywhere for the palace but can’t find it.
Waar is het?
Where is it?
Oh. Hier is het Paleis.
Oh. Here is the Palace.
Later eten wij friet met hamburger.
After we found the palace we eat burger and fries.
Stuart leest mij nog voor en dan ga ik slapen.
And at bed time Stuart read me a bed time story.

That is it for now from Alex de Leeuw since he has to return to the class room but do not fear, he will return.
I’ve really enjoyed this series and felt slightly better about my infant Dutch language skills when I realized I understood what was being written! Look forward to more from Alex de Leeuw.
That was a great adventure with Alex de Leeuw. I hope he stays with you again soon!
Alison – I felt the same when I was able to understand Alex.
Lily – We’ve already arranged for him to spend more time with us ;)
This is great! Keep these coming, when you can :-)
Oh I agree with the others here. He’s a real cutie and what’s more, he could help a lot of us with our Dutch…he could make a fortune! By the way, did you show him round Rotterdam too? I see you took hom to the harbour in Amsterdam, so you’ll have to bring him to ours too…he can go and get drunk with all the students on Thursday nights…haha..you could escort him there too ;-)
him, not hom…and I meant he could give online Dutch lessons through your blog. Would be kind of special to say I’m getting Dutch lessons from a lion…
Isabella – I will :)
VallyP – That’s a good idea. We still have to show him around Rotterdam but I don’t know about letting him go out drinking. He is under age after all.
And I have to admit that helping him post on my blog has helped with my Dutch too (and his English) so it’s not a bad idea to have him give lessons.
Alex should come do improv with us. In Dutch. Ja, meneer.
Well… that would make some great photos to put on my blog. I could see if I could bring him along one night :p
@kiki that is brilliant, give him some stage-time ;)
Lieve knuffel beest: leuk je te hebben ontmoeten !
You have brightened my day.
I’m happy to hear that :)
Alex is a cutie and you were a great host.
Thanks. He is isn’t he :)
