King’s Day Expectation vs. Reality

King’s Day Expectation vs. Reality
‘King’s Day Expectation vs. Reality’ comic strip first appeared in DUTCH: The Magazine.

I drew this cartoon a while ago before we all knew that the reality of this year’s King’s Day would be even more different than expected. I thought it would still be fun to share though.

Stay safe this King’s Day everyone.

Stuart

Stuart is an accident prone Englishman who has been living in the Netherlands since 2001. Even his move to the country was an unintentional accident, the result of replying to a cryptic job advertisement he found one day in a local British magazine. Since then he has learned to love the Dutch (so much so that he married one of them) and now calls the country home. He started the blog Invading Holland in 2006 as a place to share his strange stories of language misunderstandings, cultural confusions and his own accident prone nature.

Yes, indeed! So true! I wonder what will happen to the circulation of all that stuff this year. I hear the local dumps have traffic jams outside them, so maybe that’s where they’re all headed.

We tried to get rid of some stuff at the dump the first-week self-quartine started. Simone was stuck in a queue for an hour :D
