Stuart
Stuart is an accident prone Englishman who has been living in the Netherlands since 2001. Even his move to the country was an unintentional accident, the result of replying to a cryptic job advertisement he found one day in a local British magazine. Since then he has learned to love the Dutch (so much so that he married one of them) and now calls the country home. He started the blog Invading Holland in 2006 as a place to share his strange stories of language misunderstandings, cultural confusions and his own accident prone nature.

Congrats! I know from experience that five years ain’t easy… especially in a day and age where blogs are being forgotten left and right. :-)
Dave2 – Thanks. I kind of cheated as well because although the blog is five years old I did take a break for one of those years.
Happy Birthday!! ANd here’s to many, many more years of “Invading ….”!! :D (hope you don’t mind I’m toasting with my oj, but it’s rather early for champagne…. )
Gefeliciteerd! May you have many more blog birthdays!
Aledys Ver – It’s never too early for champagne :p
Alison – Thank you
Congratulations! Please continue to entertain us in this rather boring life in the Netherlands. May your English humor and sarcasm inspire other people (I meant that as a compliment!)
Happy Bloggiversary, Stu! :-D
I soon hope to catch up to you someday, ha ha.
By the way, I finally tried Speculoos spread for the first time in my life. I had one teaspoon of the stuff.
I swear, Speculoos spread is probably the nicotine-equivalent for my tastebuds! XD
Cuteness!
congrats!!!!!!!!!!

!
happy day!
Rosa
Here’s to the next five years. Well done Stuart.
Does this mean that you are likely to be around for another 5years? Jeez! Is there no justice in this world!
Just joking. Congrats on making it this far without getting brassed off with silly people like me making silly comments. . . .
Congratulations!
Thank you everyone :)
congrats… long live the blog
