Stuart
Stuart is an accident prone Englishman who has been living in the Netherlands since 2001. Even his move to the country was an unintentional accident, the result of replying to a cryptic job advertisement he found one day in a local British magazine. Since then he has learned to love the Dutch (so much so that he married one of them) and now calls the country home. He started the blog Invading Holland in 2006 as a place to share his strange stories of language misunderstandings, cultural confusions and his own accident prone nature.

When is King(Stu)Day?
Tammy – It had crossed my mind :)
Alison – King(Stu)Day would be in December but I might leave leave Queens Day where it is and not change anything. If there is ever a year when the Elfstedentocht happens on the same day as King(Stu)Day the Netherlands will go into melt down.
By melt down, you really mean freeze up? Otherwise the Elfstedentocht is going to be more of a swimming contest.

Xander – That is true. I think with the amount of people out partying the country (And transport) would completely freeze up and come to a stand still, you are right.
M. Verhoef – I don’t know if I would surive the hang over from a kings week :p

Is it really sad that when I first saw this news it was on an article stating something like “the queen abdicates and Holland will next have a king” and my first thought was of you?

With your Scotish ancestry why do you think you were named Stuart in the first place. Look at your middle name as well.We just assumed you would invade Scotland not Holland.
